How We Work With Our Clients

It starts with a call to make an appointment. Your place or ours in Jupiter, Florida. We make it a simple process. We begin our first meeting with open + frank conversations. Some call it an interview. We prefer to call it a “needs assessment.” We want to know as much as we can about expectations + concerns. We want to know about personal tastes, favorite styles, plus any special requirements or design requests. We want to understand the space + how it is supposed to function when all the design work is installed.

We want to learn about your priorities, time frames + even your expected returns. We need to understand who will occupy the design + how they will use it. If there are existing furnishings or fixtures, we need to how they might be used. We enjoy meeting with other design trades, so getting to know the builder, contractor, architect or landscape designer will mean more to the project when designs begin to take substance. Pretty simple stuff but really important in defining the design work ahead.

Then putting pencil to paper, we develop a master plan to assemble the elements into cohesive plans that guides the project from start to finish. From interior detailing, space planning, lighting + electrical reviews to bath + kitchen to custom cabinetry, from windows, walls + floors coverings to furnishings, art + accessories, we also manage the process providing purchasing services, delivery + installation to achieve a successful completion.

Our design services are based on what the client needs from a design partnership. As there is no one standard Client project, there is no standard way to deliver our skills + services. But when we have a complete understanding of the work ahead, we will assemble a scope of work + put that in writing. It's not just good business, it builds confidence between the Client + designer.

We often offer our skills + experience on a time basis if that seems most appropriate to the work. We can work on a fixed fee if all the criteria are known + well defined. In addition, we might offer to purchase goods + services on your behalf on a presented price or even on a cost-plus basis. Often we work on a combination of methods to assist the Client in making the best economical choices. So just like the design projects we complete, we customize the design services to fit the needs + objectives of the Client.
