MICHAEL A. THOMAS,
FASID, CAPS
President + Design Principle,
Design Collective Group, Inc.
Florida Interior
Design License # 609
Michael
is a seasoned, accomplished, Florida licensed interior
designer with a special interest in creating living + working
environments that are functional, practical + uncomplicated.
Using the "design + build" approach
to each project, he ensures that both interior + exterior
details are combined to create a total design statement.
His
clients have provided him the opportunity to complete projects
all over the country, from Houston to Chicago, Providence,
RI to San Diego, Miami to Philadelphia. With a design philosphy
that has been described as "clean, classic + always understated," Michael
believes that both function + aesthetics should be blended
to ensure client's personal preferences are met as well as
be comlimentary to the building architecture + project environment.
Michael is Dedicated to the Profession
of Interior Design
Capturing
the respect of the interior design community, he has served
as the President of the Florida South Chapter of the American
Society of Interior Designers(ASID) and then elected to
serve three years as a National Board Director for ASID,
the last year as Director with Financial Oversight. In
2004, Michael was awarded the designation of "Fellow" of
ASID, the highest honor awarded to any ASID member. In
addition, he is a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist(CAPS.)
He
has lectured at numerous conferences on design, health
care + architecture, providing continuing education to
his peers on subjects such as project management, design
trends, ethics + strategic planning. In 1999, Michael was
given an Award Of Execllence by the organization Association
Advance America for his lecture series "Ethics
And All That Jazz."
Michael has just completed
his first book, Residential Design For Aging In Place,
published by John Wiley + Company, the first major interior
